Celebrities rallied behind blogger and celebrity photographer Lesego “ThickLeeyonce” Legobane on Twitter after she was cyber bullied for her curvaceous looks.

With the Twitter handle @Thickleeyonce, Legobane said she had been called names such as rhino, jumping castle, elephant, and Shrek.

“The list is endless; everyday I have to read such bullshit about myself,” she tweeted.

Legobane faced a slew of criticism after a model with whom she was working on a shoot posted a picture of herself and a make-up-free Legobane.

On Friday, #Nomakeup was trending on Twitter with celebrities such as 5FM presenter Poppy Ntshongwana posting selfies without make-up using the hashtags #Nomakeupchallenge, #StopCyberBullying and #UnmaskingForLeeyonce.

Original tweets include @SimphiweMsibi4 saying “Thickleeyonce can fill up the dome alone” and @Buhlebuyenziwa’s “Leeyonce must go to biggest loser, not America’s next top model”.

Internet and social media guru Arthur Goldstuck said Legobane was a hero of social media.

“She allows the bullies to expose themselves by continuing to be proud of who she is.”
