Kelly Khumalo South African Afro-pop singer launched an attack on the father ( Sam Meyiwa ) of her late boyfriend  Senzo Meyiwa (Former captain of Bafana Bafana ) She started the attack by labelling him an attention-seeker using her name to grab media attention.

“I have never met that man in my life and yet he goes around saying all sorts of things about me – he is using my name to gain fame,” she said.

Khumalo, who was speaking during an interview on the SABC3’s Talk Three Show on Wednesday, ruled out any possibility of reconciliation with Sam Meyiwa – who last year was quoted as saying the singer was not welcome at the player’s funeral, which took place in Durban in November.

Khumalo has a child with Senzo.

“If you are an elder, you do not go around saying things about people you do not know. There was no point in him telling the public I was not welcome at the funeral because I would not have gone there.

“I knew very well that his (Senzo) family do not like me,” she said.

Khumalo, who wept during the interview when talking about Senzo, said she had sacrificed much for the relationship.

The singer said she found herself in the middle of marital problems between Senzo – who was murdered while visiting her at her family home in Vosloorus – and his wife Mandisa Mkhize.

“It was very traumatic having to deal with that and when I tried to walk away, Senzo would beg me to stay. It is unfortunate that most people are not aware of the pain I went through in the relationship,” she said.

In recent weeks, Khumalo has been seen on several occasions in the company of wealthy Durban traditional healer and maskandi singer Zamokwakhe “Baka” Nzama – who is also a married man.

The sightings sparked rumours she was having an affair with Nzama.

Khumalo denied this, saying her relationship with Nzama was purely professional.

“He has asked me to work on a music project with him. The problem is that each time I try to do something, people talk. I have reached a point where I do not care anymore – they can say whatever they want,” she said.

Sam Meyiwa declined to comment.
